| Living emotions serenely in the mountains
Either you were born in the mountains, and have therefore come to know and respect them as a child, or you need someone to help you experience them in all of their beauty and show you their secrets, step by step. In other words, you need a mountain guide, a ‘lord of the mountain’. Guides, while guardians of mountain traditions, are not insensitive to the stimuli of a rapidly changing society. Consequently, along with rock and ice climbing, ski-mountaineering, nature and high-mountain excursions, today’s guides can also introduce you to sport climbing, canyoning, and the discovery of the most beautiful environments offered by the area’s nature parks. There are currently 216 mountain guides registered in the provincial roll. Each valley has an office where visitors may request information, book excursions, or register in introductory mountaineering courses. This year there is a new professional figure in Trentino, a Territorial Guide, who works up to an altitude of 1,800 metres and gives visitors the chance to discover the culture of the mountain environment visiting places of naturalistic and ethnological interest. |
