From the Czech Republic a voice and a violin of a thousand tones. Iva Bittová describes her way of expressing herself "my own personal folk music". Her compositions and improvisations reveal a precise and daring study of avant-garde, but at the same time deeply rooted in the gypsy tradition of the Moravia villages, where Iva Bittová was born and grew up. "In my performances", she says, "the violin is a mirror reflecting my dreams and my imagination. The rest is the resonance between the instrument and the voice". The New York Times wrote: "Iva Bittová is a true cosmopolitan. She takes on the role of the singer as town crier whose voice animates the old myths and current news".
