Angelique Kidjo began singing in her home country, Benin, and after moving to Paris her powerful voice and an energetic mix of tradition and modernity brought her success. Famous names such as Peter Gabriel, Manu Dibango, Branford Marsalis, Carlos Santana, Henri Salvador and Alicia Keys have featured on her albums, which include the Grammy Award-winning Djin Djin. She has been a UNICEF ambassador since 2002.
