German climber Alexander Huber has climbed and participated in expeditions both in Italy (Mont Blanc, Tre Cime di Lavaredo) and in other parts of the world (Karakoram, Patagonia, Antarctica). Thanks to his experience on a wide variety of walls, either solo or alongside his brother Thomas, he is today considered one of the most complete climbers.
Among his achievements in the 1990s are the ascent of the world’s second 9a route (Om, Germany) and the first 9a+ route (Open Air, Austria), as well as the free ascent of the legendary Salathé on the wall of El Capitan in Yosemite Valley.
