A wild landscape greets hikers when they reach the Bombasel Lakes at 2,270 meters in the Lagorai group, a vast mountain range stretching across eastern Trentino between Val di Fiemme and Valsugana. Scattered across a rocky plateau and overlooking the Dolomites, the lakes can be reached by a walk from Alpe Cermis, which is served by a lift system.
A magical place—usually also little frequented—perfect for hosting the MediBa 4tet (Mediterranean–Balkan Quartet), an acoustic ensemble formed by Maša Vujadinović (voice), Jakob Kobal (accordion), Queralt Giralt Soler (cello), and Andrea Dionisi (drums/percussion). A finalist in 2025 of the “Paolo Manfrini” competition, named after the founder of I Suoni delle Dolomiti, the quartet was formed at the Berklee College of Music in Boston with the aim of blending the Balkan and Mediterranean traditions of its members with original arrangements, jazz, and classical influences.
Their music moves effortlessly from delicate moments to intense harmonic and rhythmic journeys. Active on the East Coast of the United States, MediBa returns to Europe—and to I Suoni—this year for their first tour.
