Giuseppe Cederna

Giuseppe Cederna, born in 1957, is an Italian actor and writer who became extremely popular for his role as the orderly Antonio Farina in the film Mediterraneo by Gabriele Salvatores, released in 1991.

He had made his screen debut ten years earlier with Luigi Comencini’s film Cercasi Gesù, and later continued his career in cinema, television, and theatre, working under the direction of, among others, the Taviani brothers, Fausto Brizzi, Gianni Amelio, and Jasmine Trinca.

A passionate mountain lover, he made his debut as a writer in 2024 with the book Il grande viaggio, about an expedition in India to the sources of the Ganges. The book was also presented in Trentino, at Rifugio Contrìn, as part of Dolomiti di Pace.

Nominated several times for the David di Donatello awards, in 2008 he won the Prix d’Interprétation Masculine in Annecy for his performance in Aspettando il sole.
