The orchestra was founded in 2012, bringing together some of the finest internationally renowned performers specializing in the rediscovery and recording of musical masterpieces from the Baroque, Classical, and Bel Canto periods.
To date, it has recorded a wide range of instrumental and vocal music, presented in some of the world’s leading concert halls. For its productions, the orchestra has received numerous awards, from the Diapason d’Or to the Grammophon Award.
The ensemble’s name recalls the title of an opera by Marc’Antonio Cesti, written in Vienna in 1666 for the wedding of Emperor Leopold I. “Il Pomo d’Oro,” wrote BB Music Magazine, “is proving to be one of the most brilliant ensembles on today’s musical scene.”
