Born in Brazil, in the megacity of São Paulo, in 2015 at the initiative of violinist Jennifer Stumm, the Ilumina Ensemble, dedicated to classical music, has attracted the attention of hundreds of musicians. On one side are talented young players—often from disadvantaged backgrounds where access to music schools can be extremely difficult—and on the other, established names from the international concert scene who provide them with high-level training, mentorship, and real professional opportunities.

Over time, the ensemble has built a strong reputation both within and beyond South America, thanks not only to the clear social commitment at the heart of the project but also to their outstanding live performances, beginning with those at The Ilumina Festival, held on an eco-sustainable farm on the outskirts of São Paulo.

After their debut at the Lucerne Festival in 2022, Ilumina has performed, among other venues, at the Edinburgh International Festival and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and in 2026 they make their debut at London’s Wigmore Hall. Through the digital project “Equal Music,” they also promote broader, global, and more inclusive access to music education.
