Jean Christophe Spinosi

Jean-Christophe Spinosi is a French conductor, violinist and composer. Born in Corsica in September 1964, he founded the French orchestra Ensemble Matheus in 1991, which has performed in major theatres around the world, performing classical and romantic repertoire. In 2005, he recorded with the orchestra and Philippe Jaroussky, the highly acclaimed album Vivaldi – Heroes for EMI-Virgin Classics.

During his long career, Spinosi has collaborated with numerous conductors including Pierrick Sorin, Oleg Kulik, Claus Guth, Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier and with orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has released over a dozen recordings with Deutsche Grammophon, Decca and other record companies, garnering prestigious awards.and, in particular, the 206th Company of the Val di Cordevole, commanded by the famous Captain Arturo Andreoletti.
