Anastasia Kobekina

Russian cellist Anastasia Kobekina, winner of the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition in St. Petersburg, studied with Frans Helmerson and Jens-Peter Maintz in Germany, and later with Jérôme Pernoo in Paris. Le Figaro has described her as “a musician without rivals.”

Renowned for her flawless technique and versatility, she has performed as a soloist with world-class orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Wiener Symphoniker, BBC Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow, under the baton of conductors including Krzysztof Penderecki, Heinrich Schiff, Omer Meir Wellber, Vladimir Spivakov, Charles Dutoit, and Xian Zhang.

Highlights of her recent career include concerts with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Czech Philharmonic, and the Orchestre National de Belgique, as well as appearances at major festivals such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, and the Dvořák Prague International Music Festival.

A BBC New Generation Artist from 2018 to 2021, she was also named a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Artist, receiving an award in 2022.

Anastasia is an exclusive Sony Classical artist. Her debut album Venice was released in February 2024, and she was the subject of the documentary Now or Never!, filmed in Germany and released in February 2025.
