Daniel Norgren

Daniel Norgren is a Swedish singer-songwriter and musician born in Borås in 1983. He achieved mainstream success thanks to the soundtrack of the film The Eight Mountains, based on the novel of the same name by Paolo Cognetti, which won the Crystal Pine Award for “Best Use of Music” at the International Sound & Film Music Awards. However, his artistic journey began much earlier in his youth. Raised in a family of musicians, he started playing guitar and piano very early on, developing a strong passion for folk, blues, and soul music. In 2007, he debuted with the album Kerosene Dreams, gradually building a growing following in Sweden and Europe in the following years. In 2010, he released Horrifying Deatheating Bloodspider and received a nomination for Swedish singer and composer of the year.

In 2013, the album Buck garnered international attention, allowing him to perform live worldwide. His subsequent album, Alabursy, recorded by Norgren at home with a small domestic setup and featuring the poignant track “As Long As We Last,” was used as the soundtrack for The Eight Mountains, contributing to its success.

Intimate and sentimental, Daniel Norgren’s music seems to reflect the environment from which it originates, the vast landscapes of Northern Europe. Far from the mainstream yet perfectly “in focus,” he has, over the years – including with his latest album Wooh Dang – captured the attention of an audience that appreciates his sincerity and sophistication.
