Signum Saxophone Quartet

A perfect embodiment of the “total music” so often featured in I Suoni delle Dolomiti, the Signum Saxophone Quartet, founded in Cologne in 2006, actually began its artistic journey back in school, growing and evolving over the years. Their style is born from the fusion of various musical genres, blending classical and chamber music with contemporary sounds.

After winning numerous international competitions, the quartet made its Carnegie Hall debut in New York in 2013, and has since appeared on some of Europe’s most prestigious stages. The Signum Saxophone Quartet has cemented its reputation through several acclaimed recordings—including Echoes (2021), released on the Deutsche Grammophon label and featuring music by Max Richter, Guillermo Lago, and others—as well as through notable collaborations, including one with violinist Daniel Hope, who also featured them on his TV program Hope@Home.

As the Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote:

“The artistry of these four magnificent musicians is evident not only in their collective interpretation of the symphonic spirit; each of them is an unrivaled master of a refined, sculpted sound.”

The current members of the quartet are Blaž Kemperle, Jacopo Taddei, Alan Lužar, and Guerino Bellarosa.
