Stefano Bollani

Stefano Bollani, born in Milan in 1972, is—simply put—a multifaceted artist. Originally from Milan, he began playing music at the age of 6 and made his professional debut at 15. After graduating from the Florence Conservatory in 1993, he established himself in the world of jazz.

A key moment in his career was his encounter with Enrico Rava, his mentor, in 1996. With Rava, he recorded numerous albums and performed on prestigious stages around the world. His collaborations extend well beyond that, including legendary names such as Chick Corea (with whom he released the live album Orvieto), Richard Galliano, Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, Pat Metheny, and Bobby McFerrin.

Bollani’s eclectic and improvisation-driven style leads him to engage in a wide range of projects, exploring every corner of the musical spectrum—from jazz to classical to pop, and even ventures beyond music itself. Over the course of his career, he has received numerous awards, including the Nastro d’Argento for Best Soundtrack in 2021 for the film Carosello Carosone, the Tenco Lifetime Achievement Award in the same year, and the David di Donatello for Best Score in 2023 for the film Il Pataffio.
