Vinicio Capossela

Vinicio Capossela was born in Hannover in 1965. A singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and writer, he is one of the most highly awarded artists by the Club Tenco. A central feature of his artistic vision is his focus on presenting music as a form of performance art, moving fluidly across the fields of music, literature, radio, cinema, and beyond.

His musical career began in 1990 with the album All’una e trentacinque circa, which earned him his first Targa Tenco award. His early works, such as Modì and Camera a sud, established his reputation both in Italy and abroad. But it was Il ballo di San Vito (1996) that marked a turning point: described by Capossela himself as “not an album, but a story,” it clearly reflects literary influences.

Over time, his art has never ceased to explore new frontiers. His most recent work, released in October 2024, is Sciusten feste no. 1965. What will this multifaceted artist surprise us with next?
