Special Project: Lontano lontano
The songs of Luigi Tenco, suspended between melancholy, love, and quiet courage, have left an indelible mark on the landscape of Italian music. They are songs that continue to speak to us, giving voice to our anxieties, untouched by changing fashions, shifts in public taste, or the technological evolution that has taken place since that tragic January 27, 1967, when Tenco, after an evening at the Sanremo Festival, took his own life.
Those songs will return, for an unforgettable evening, in the park of Villa Welsperg, a splendid noble residence built in 1853, now home to the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park. Reinterpreting them with love, delicacy, and intensity will be Doctor 3, a trio formed in 1997 on the occasion of recording their first album, The Tales of Doctor 3, which was named Best Italian Album of the Year by Musica Jazz magazine (an award the group has received two more times).
An ensemble with a cross-genre approach—perfectly in line with the spirit of I Suoni delle Dolomiti – that blends true jazz with pop sensibilities and singer-songwriter influences.
