Beyond
Il Pomo d’Oro is a monumental Baroque work composed for the imperial wedding in Vienna in 1666, but it is also the name of a world-class ensemble founded in 2012 and dedicated to rediscovering and recording musical masterpieces from the Baroque, Classical, and Bel Canto periods, collaborating with internationally renowned singers. Today Il Pomo d’Oro boasts extensive concert experience around the world and an impressive list of recordings, many of which have received international awards.
Recently the ensemble launched a new early-music tour (featuring works by Monteverdi, Cavalli, Caccini, Frescobaldi, and many others) together with the great countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, the “Gen Z countertenor,” titled Beyond, to show audiences that this music goes “beyond time.” The setting for the performance will be Malga Brenta Bassa, a spectacular natural grassy amphitheatre surrounded by woods in the heart of Val Brenta. From here the view embraces the entire central sector of the Brenta Dolomites and its “king,” the Crozzon di Brenta.
