Latin American rhythms in Sagron Mis, a place that in Trentino used to be synonymous with “remote”, even if in the last few years intensive promotional work has made it a very popular destination, especially for those in search of the most authentic mountain experience: it seems a rather daring combination – and in fact it is, in the most positive way.
In this town in Primiero – in the heart of the UNESCO Dolomites, where you can find Torre T3, a futuristic lookout point with a climbing wall and a telescope for night-time observation of a sky unspoilt by light pollution, as well as several hiking trails to discover human activities in different eras, including mercury and gold mining – an exceptional artist of Cuban origin, Ana Carla Maza, will be performing for one evening, bringing her musical style far from the usual clichés.
Born in Havana, she is a cellist who studied in Paris, as well as a singer and composer. Her music blends Caribbean tradition, Latin jazz and pop with the virtuosity that comes from classical training, which allows Ana Carla Maza to flawlessly play Brahms or Shostakovich as well as the pieces on her latest album, Caribe. A multifaceted, wide-ranging work, rich in atmospheres, scents, moods, sometimes joyful, sometimes nostalgic, which she has taken to stages all over the world to extraordinary acclaim.
